Storylotto

For literacy we had to do this activity called “Storylotto”

I chose to do 2nd division, In the 2nd division you had to write a 88 word long story using the words Potatoes, Must, Who, Rainbow(s), Music, Hope, Think, clock, Freedom, Vanish, Happy and Yes at least once

here is my story:

Hope was digging up potatoes, she seemed very happy as she was listening to her favorite music (Rock). She loved living in his own freedom of rainbow land. But then she heard the clock smash, Next everything vanished.  She thought “I must fix this, Yes” She had to think a lot. Then she remembered a story, “every 67 years everything disappears because of a man who was said to live underground” She started running but passed out on the way. A farmer found her tracks later that day.

Tessellation

For art we made tessellation. Mine was made out  of triangles to make another big triangle

Starting from scratch

We  have been doing scratch coding for maths for the past 1-2 weeks-

The first one is a star- It will be pretty easy to make if you know how to draw a Pentigon

The second one is a circle- For this one we had to pridict what shape it was, then copy the code. At first It looked like a circle with a line ( Ol ) But then I changed it to a circle

The Third one is an S- This one you also had to guess what it was, So it was easy

The fourth one is a basic triangle- Really Easy to make

The Fith one is a map- I made Zane meet fatu without steping on the grass

The Sixth one is also a map- I made the blue and green one meet the red and black

Frog Life Cycle

In term 4 our class had to do an E ASTTLE on frogs.

My favourite stage of a frog is the froglet stage because I find it cute, Whats yours?

Did you know frogs are amphibians, That means they go on both land and water! But they can only start going on land once their lungs develop.

Life Cycle of an Axolotl

Title: Axolotls

Author: Emilie Fox

Axolotls, also known as “The Mexican Walking Fish” are native to Mexico but are also found all over the world used as pets. Axolotls are known for their cute but funky looks, They have four legs, gills on each side of their head and a tail. Some people call them fish but they are actually a type of salamander.

Axolotls start off with the female axolotl laying the eggs in freshwater bodies. The Female lays hundreds of eggs, around the size of a pea, The eggs are jelly like and also have a dark spot which is the embryo. They eat the yolk inside their egg to help them survive. It takes them 14-21 days to hatch

Once they have hatched they are now known as Larvae. They have gills which act like lungs so they can breathe underwater, the gills look red-ish because of the blood pumping throughout them. They have also now developed a dorsal fin, lots of people mistake these for their tails, but this helps them maneuver through the water.

Next comes the Juvenile Axolotl. Now they have also developed internal lungs which are only used when there isn’t enough oxygen in the water. At this stage they grow limbs, first at the back, then the front. They eat smaller fish and eggs of the axolotls, which does mean they are cannibals.

Lastly, the Axolotl adult. Not much has changed since the Juvenile, it has only grown bigger. It eats the same things as before, Only now they also eat worms and insects. To carry on the cycle the female will find a male mate and it will start again.

Axolotls are unique amphibians. They are also endangered in the wild, That’s why lots of people have  them as pets. We can help prevent them going extinct by keeping freshwater bodies free from pollution.

Cybersmart Today

Today for cybersmart my class all did this slide, My trusted adults are my Mum, my Dad, Kathy (My teacher) and Eugene (My Teacher)

(It says dad above my photo, I didn’t mean to put it there)

Novel Study!

This what I have been doing this term for literacy. We read the book “The Secret Lake” By Karen Inglis. Its about two children (Tom and Stella) Trying to find their neghbours dog Harry and stumble apon a hole that sends them back 100 years. Our Teacher would read us a chapter every time we can and after we would do some work about it. all of our activities are on the slide shown above.

We are now doing a create, Me and my team Zara, Travis, Kobe, Harley and Harry are all making a short movie, Once we have finished our Script we will move on to filming it.

I recomend reading this book, it has things like time traveling and mistery moles which is fun to imagine in real life.

My Art!!

Today we worked with Caroline for Cool Rise Team (CRT), We made a Papel Picaedo, Papel Picaedo is a is a sort of tissue paper that you hang up for a celebration.

I made 6, The first one is for my friend, the 2nd and 3rd ones are for my Cousins, the 4th one is for my Nana, The 5th one is for my Brother and the last one is for me 😀

My VR Report!

On Thursday we had guests from Blake NZ-VR experience come and visit us. They were sharing videos about the ocean. We were with Sophie, The instructor. She told us all about Protected Oceans VS Unprotected Oceans. In the Protected Oceans I saw heaps of plants, Fish and less sea urchins. In the Unprotected Oceans I saw heaps of sea urchins, and rubbish, The water was very brown and dirty unlike the protected Oceans. Protected oceans are oceans that are protected, This means you cannot fish or feed the fish in them. I think we should have more protected oceans so we have more sea life in the future. My Favorite part of my experience was the seals because they were play fighting. When I left I felt bad for the animals in the sea.
